macosx [ steverogerson ]	9:20a	Scrolling problem My Mac Pro has developed an interesting problem. It is constantly scrolling down. Say I am in a window and click on the top item, then it immediately scrolls all the way to the bottom. If I am in a Word document, for example, and click on the first word it scrolls straight down to the bottom. It is not a mouse problem as I've tried it with two different mice and even without a mouse, and it still does the same. I've rebooted to no effect. This is stopping me working and is very annoying. Has anyone any idea what might be wrong and how to fix it? Edit: Ignore me, problem solved (2 Comments |Comment on this)

lj_dev [ brentfolger ]	1:57p	Where Should I Start? I must admit I have always used the wordpress platform to build my sites. Like many of the other new people I don't know a whole ton about how to use the Live Journal Platform...yet. My latest website, Adwords Management was built completely on wordpress. How hard would it be to make this site in Live Journal. I'm not sure if I should use a theme that looks similar to this one or if I should just find a new theme.. Is there anyone else here who has recently transformed from a WP user to Live Journal? If so, I'd love to hear your suggestions on how I should get on the fast track of completely understanding and using Live Journal.  Any theme suggestions would be awesome! macosx [ catharsis_o_s ]	11:21p	I can even screw up a mac. Oh lord. I'm using an OLD iBook with OS X 10.4.6. A while ago I managed to get my mac so stuck that I couldn't even get it shut down by pressing the power button. Obviously the next (not so) logical thing to do is take the battery out. And I did. I put it back and restart. I was doing this on work ofcourse and had to serve a customer after booting. I left my computer alone for about ten minutes, when I came back the screen was black and there was these white stripers running on it. I booted again, this time the computer respondet to the power button. This time the mac started on a tigers' welcome screen asking me to fill out all the information etc. I didn't really have any important files on this computer so it doesn't bother me that much. But the hard drive on this thing is really small, like 14gb, and i had some big files on it and they still seem to be there filling my hd. So my question is this, is there any way to restore those files, defragmet this thing, anything, so that i can get that space back? I bought this thing really cheap from my school, so i don't have any backup systems or cd's or anything really. Please help me out, this thing is dying on my hands. macosx [ humanoid27 ]	7:37p	help i recently got a wacom bamboo fun pen tablet- it's great by the way. it came with photoshop elements 6 but i can't install it because when i try it gets to the "initializing" stage and then shows this- anyone know how i can cure this? or even find this setup log of which it speaks? i did download the 30 day trial version of ps-e 6 and i was wondering if this may have something to do with it... i'm using a 13" macbook (2.2 ghz, core 2 duo, 4gig sdram, os x10.5.7...) I just switched from a Sony camera to a Kodak camera, and for some reason, my Kodak camera wont show up as a drive anywhere (finder/sidebar/disk utility) However, iPhoto is smart enough to acknowledge it and let me import photos without a problem. I have a couple of movies on it that I want to upload, or at least save to my hard drive, but I seem to be unable to find it anywhere to copy the photos over. (I've checked Finder preferences already, and don't have any problems with any other things I attach to my computer) Help? Macbook Intel Core 2 Duo, running 10.5.7 (7 Comments |Comment on this)

macosx [ kinnerc ]	10:16a	iCal Stops Working... I have someone whose iCal basically stopped working suddenly about three hours ago. I can't figure out why. Everybody else's iCal is still working. However, as he is in the program, with his calendar selected, when he goes to the "File" menu, "New Event," "New To Do," and "New Calendar" these selections are grayed out. I have never seen that happen before. Even if the calendar was not able to be published shouldn't he be able to put new events on the local calendar? I have never seen these items grayed out before. We have "Refreshed All" and exited and restarted the program several times. We cannot get these items re-blackened. (1 Comment |Comment on this)
macosx [ augustbaby823 ]	2:47a	sim readers i recently purchased a sim reader (chipset PL2303) and unfortunately the drivers i was provided with is not compatible with mac osx. does anyone know of a driver for this sim reader? i've googled the heck out of it and all i found was the driver for the usb to serial of this same model number. http://driverdownload168.com/ the second one of the list is the sim reader i have and am trying to find a driver for. macosx [ desert_song ]	1:57p	Microsoft Office 2003 I am currently operating on an iBook G4 running on Leopard. But I'm planning to get a new computer (MacBook Pro 13") in the next few months. On the iBook, I have Microsoft Office '03. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer it to the new computer, or even if my local Apple Store might be willing to do that. I not only do not want to pay for Office again, but 2003 seems like a much more user-friendly version than the 2008 Office. And please don't tell me to just download OpenOffice. I need to have powerpoint because I'm a college student and must be able to open and edit powerpoint notes from professors. (20 Comments |Comment on this)
macosx [ ruminator ]	7:54a	Express + music = occasional cut-offs This has been happening for a long time now and I decided to finally seek a solution. I use an Express connected to a stereo to play music wirelessly from iTunes. It plays for a while, but after several minutes or longer it stops abruptly even though iTunes is still running with the scrubber moving. To get it to stream to the Express again I have to switch the speaker to something else then back to the Express. This has occurred on two different Expresses I've had, so it's probably not due to a defective Express. I downloaded the latest Express firmware yesterday, but the problem continues. Almost makes me wonder if the PowerBook G4 is the culprit. I also suspect many others have experienced similar. So... is it Mr. Job's intention for us to appreciate some silence once in a while, or is there a fix? (4 Comments |Comment on this)

Also, I've downloaded a Handbrake recently and it won't work. Every time I open it, it would just bounce on my dock and then disappear. Anyone know how to resolve this problem? macosx [ chuckvideo ]	9:58a	find my iPhone service I know this isn't a specific Mac OSX question, but it does involve having a MobileMe account and I know so many Mac users also have iPhones so I thought I'd ask here as well. Can the "find my iPhone" service be used to fine someone else's iPhone (with their permission of course)? My girlfriend and I both have iPhones, but only I have a MobileMe account. With her phone running iPhone OS 3.0, and with her phone's "find my iPhone" service activated in Settings is there any way we could find her iPhone if she misplaces it? I can easily see where finding someone else's misplaced iPhone could involve privacy rights and stalking issues, but with the owner of the lost iPhone's permission it could come in quite handy.
